Fear is a Liar
Wednesday - August 5th Scripture to Read for Today's Devotional: Isaiah 41:10-13
Today's Selection from our Sermon on the Mount Reading Plan: Matthew 5:21-26
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.
Isaiah 41:10

This past weekend the title of my message from Matthew 6:25-34 was "Worry is a Liar." We talked about how worry feeds us lies. Jesus clearly declared the truth that contrasts the lies. The song "Fear is a Liar" by Zach Williams inspired the title of my message. Read the lyrics to the song for your self.
When he told you you're not good enough
When he told you you're not right
When he told you you're not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you're not worthy
When he told you you're not loved
When he told you you're not beautiful
That you'll never be enough
Fear, he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear, he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
When he told you you were troubled
You'll forever be alone
When he told you you should run away
You'll never find a home
When he told you you were dirty
And you should be ashamed
When he told you you could be the one
That grace could never change
Fear, he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear, he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
Let Your fire fall and cast out all my fears
Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel
Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel
Oh, fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear, he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
'Cause fear he is a liar*
God promises us that we do not have to listen to the lies that fear whispers to us. In Isaiah 41:10, we hear the voice of God telling us, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God." We do not have to be overwhelmed with worry or be dismayed by life. God is with us. We are never alone. As His children, He is our God and watches over us.
Below you will find the link to the Youtube video of the song, "Fear is a liar." Watch the video or reread the lyrics. Remind yourself that the truth can only be found in your God, not in fear or worry.
Remember, God is with you wherever you go. You have no reason to fear!
